Ear

Knowledge, experience and skills in:

  • the general content of training for Sections B and C
  • health counseling, prevention, (early) detection and treatment of diseases of the auditory and vestibular system, the cranial nerves, the nose and paranasal sinuses, the lacrimal nasal routes, lips, cheek, tongue, the tongue ground, floor of the mouth and the tonsils, pharynx, larynx, salivary glands, and the Oto-Rhino-based and including the lymphatic system and the soft tissues of the face, skull and neck
  • the basis of indications for surgical and conservative treatment, including the risk assessment and prognostic evaluation
  • psychogenic symptoms, reactions, and somato-psycho-social contexts
  • the basics of functional disorders of the cervical spine and temporomandibular joints
  • wound care, wound care and bandaging
  • investigations of area-based examination of the cranial nerves, including olfactory and gustatory-
  • sense
  • the basics of diagnosis and treatment of swallowing, voice, speech and language disorders
  • stroboscopy and voice measurements
  • functional swallowing therapy including compensatory strategies and tools for support of eating and drinking and the supply of tracheal and oral and nasal gastroduodenal probes

  • the indications, proper sample collection and treatment of laboratory tests and classification of the results in the disease pattern

  • the recognition, conservative and surgical treatment, aftercare and rehabilitation of diseases, including disorders, trauma, malformations, deformations organs and tumors of the nose and paranasal sinuses, nasolacrimal ways of hearing- and vestibular system, the cranial nerves, lips, cheek, tongue, the tongue ground, floor of the mouth, the tonsils, pharynx, larynx, upper respiratory-digestive tract, the salivary glands and the Oto-Rhino-based and soft tissues of the face and skull
  • and throat
  • the basis of area-based tumor therapy
  • palliative care services to be supplied incoming patients
  • detection and treatment of allergic diseases, including area-based emergency treatment of anaphylactic shock
  • the fundamentals sleep-related breathing disorders and their surgical treatment measures
  • the indication for surgical and conservative treatment, including the risk assessment and prognostic evaluation
  • the environmental damage in the ear, nose and throat area, including noise-induced hearing

Knowledge, experience and skills in:

  • the contents of the basic training in the area ear, nose and throat medicine
  • detection of conservative treatment and rehabilitation of organic, functional, peripheral and central disorders of voice, speech, language, the swallowing and the child’s hearing, hearmaturing, processing and perception including psychosomatic disorders, and family counseling
  • detection of auditory, visual, kinesthetic and tactile processing and cognitive problems in children, including neurological and developmental and psychological contexts
  • the diagnosis of coarse, fine and oral motor skills associated with swallowing, speech and language disorders, including examination of dysarthrophonia, aphasia, apraxia
  • age and developmental audiometry for children with subjective and objective hearing tests and screening procedures in neonates and infants
  • the speech and language therapy, including measures to improve communication
  • on phonetic-phonological, morphological, syntactic, semantic and pragmatics communicative
  • level
  • voice therapy, including measures to improve the self and perception, tonus regulation, breathing, articulation, phonation and vocal training replacement
  • the adjustment and checking of hearing aids in children, including use of training
